近日中国钒品出口价格提升及供应不断紧缩，8月6日周三欧洲钒铁产品价格明显上调。
Metal Bulletin's quotation moved up to $25.50-26.25 per kg from $24.70-25.60 previously, prompting surprise from some corners.
根据《MB》报价显示，周三欧洲钒铁价格由之前的24.70-25.60美元提升至25.50-26.25美元/千克，使其他观望的商家感到吃惊。
"The jump in the [prices] people are offering is very high. There is demand and we don't have any material to offer in August," a producer said.
一位生产商说：“商家对外报价瞬间提升很多，场内虽有需求，但8月份没有任何可供应的原料”。
"Historically, you would see prices coming down in August. This is the first time prices have gone up like this and it is unusual," the producer added.

The move has been driven largely by traders, as they respond to higher offer prices coming from China. It initially prompted suggestions that a two-tier market may be emerging, with consumers at one end and traders at the other.

Although that gap appears to be closing, as at least one consumer purchased a relatively large amount of material towards the top end of the range, traders are now coming back into the market with still higher offers.

"I think the main story is from China - it's as though the Chinese [sellers] woke up. We're offering [above $26.50] currently," a trader said.

A second trader added that availability is being squeezed, as very little new production is entering the spot market in Europe.

Supply from all over the world is limited, the trader said, and market participants are likely to find it difficult to pick up firm offers as sellers hold back material.

Vanadium pentoxide prices remained static at $5.10-5.50 per lb, although there has been some suggestion that there could be some additional movement in the coming days.
